Piano Duo Scholtes and Janssens at Festival Classique

Piano Duo Scholtes and Janssens will perform at the Festival Classique in June 15 in The Hague. Lestari and Gwylim will be performing on the Hofvijver stage, a podium, especially build for the festival on the 'Hofvijver' lake in the center of The Hague. 

They will be cooperating with the dance company 'The Dutch Don't Dance Division'. The dancers will be performing in a choreography of Thom Stuart on Gustav Holst's 'The Planets'. Scholtes and Janssens will play the orginal version of the composer for two pianos. The duo shall open the concert with Igor Stravinsky's 'Petrouchka' in the version for piano four hands.

Review Carnegie Hall concert

Two years after their debut in New York's Carnegie Hall, the Scholtes & Janssens Piano Duo performed once again in the famous hall on May 1st, 2012. 

he concert was well received by the American press. The art magazine SoundWordSight wrote about the duo: '...amazing playing of this great music' en 'Superb teamwork – two as one – with excellent, turn-on-a-dime transitions between episodes'. 

The concert was part of the annual tour of the winners of the international music competition Ibla Grand Prize. Scholtes & Janssens were winners in 2008 and since 2009, they are part of the jury in this competition.
